FAQs

If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here for you.

  • You can sign up directly from our website by clicking Book Now, or by using our booking app, Walla. Creating an account only takes a minute — once you’re set up, you can reserve classes, manage your membership, and check yourself into class right from your phone.

If it’s your first visit, we recommend registering before you arrive so everything is ready when you get to the studio. When you come in, you’ll check in at the front desk and we’ll show you where everything is. No experience is needed — just show up a few minutes early and we’ll take care of the rest.

  • We are open 7 days a week with classes offered throughout the day. The lobby is open 30 minutes before and after every class.

  • It’s totally normal to feel unsure before your first class. Arrive about 15 minutes early and we’ll help you get checked in, show you where everything is, and help you set up your mat.

During class, you can move at your own pace. You are always allowed to rest, lie down, or skip a posture. No one expects you to know what you’re doing — you’ll learn by simply being in the room.

  • ABSOLUTELY! You do not need to be flexible to start yoga. Flexibility is a result of practice, not a requirement. Many students begin with very limited range of motion and improve steadily over time.

  • Everyone is a little different, but we recommend avoiding large meals 2–3 hours before class. Practicing on a full stomach can feel uncomfortable in the heat and during certain postures.

If you’re coming to an early class, a small, easy-to-digest snack is usually fine. Also keep in mind that caffeine can increase heat sensitivity and heart rate for some students.

Hydrating before and after class will help you feel your best.

  • Of course!. You’re welcome to drink water whenever you need to.

In 26&2 classes, there are moments where you’ll be lying on your stomach, so drinking large amounts at once may feel uncomfortable. Most students find it helpful to take small sips and focus on hydrating before and after class.

  • Bring a water bottle, yoga mat, and a yoga towel.

Bring water and comfortable clothes you can move and sweat in. Most students wear shorts, leggings, or athletic clothing they don’t mind getting very sweaty.

You’ll also need a yoga mat and a towel. If you don’t have them yet, we rent both at the studio, so you don’t need to buy anything before your first class.

Plan to arrive about 15 minutes early, especially for your first visit. We’ll check you in and show you where everything is so you can get settled before class starts.

  • Yes. We have parking right in front of the studio (east side of the building).

We also have free parking in the gravel lot on the south side of the studio, available throughout the day.

Parking is accessible from N. Tampa Street, E 7th Avenue, and E Henderson Avenue.

  • Yes. We have an indoor shower room in the studio, as well as outdoor showers on the back patio. Many students rinse off and head straight to work or errands after class, so you’re welcome to take your time getting cleaned up before you leave.

  • Yes. We rent mats and towels for $3 each, so you don’t need to bring anything your first visit besides water and comfortable clothes.

If you plan to come regularly, we also offer Mat & Towel Service for $15/month, which includes unlimited rentals. We also carry mats and other essentials in the studio if you decide you’d like your own later on.

  • Please arrive about 15 minutes before class, especially for your first visit. This gives you time to check in, set up your mat, and get settled before class begins.

Please text or call us if you are running late.

  • Our hot yoga room uses a combination of near and far infrared heat. We also control the humidity and circulate fresh air throughout the room.

  • No. Class temperatures vary depending on the style. Our 26&2 classes are fully heated to about 105°F, while some classes like Hot Gaze Flow and Hatha Strong are warm but slightly lower in temperature. Classes held in the Not Hot Room are unheated.

If you’re unsure where to start, just ask — we’re always happy to help you choose a good first class.

  • We do a few things intentionally to keep the studio an inviting and focused space for everyone.

First of all, be kind and practice mindful compassion for your fellow yogis and yourself.

Please reserve your class in advance. Our classes often fill, and signing up ensures you have a spot.

Plan to arrive about 15 minutes early. This gives you time to check in, set up your mat, and settle before class begins.

Please leave shoes, bags, and personal belongings in the cubbies or baskets in the lobby. Only bring your mat, towel, and water into the yoga room. We will always have a Gaze team member at the desk or we will lock the front door to ensure your valuables are safe.

To help keep the space comfortable for all students, please avoid wearing strong scents or fragrances to class.

When setting up your mat, be mindful of the students behind you so everyone can see themselves in the mirror.

Phones are not allowed in the yoga room. If you need to keep your phone with you for work or emergencies, just let us know and we will help you find a solution.

Before class and after class in the hot room, we keep conversation to a minimum. Many students use this time to prepare mentally and to rest during savasana.

During class, please remain in the room. If you feel overheated or dizzy, lie down and rest — that is always okay.

If you do need to step out, stay in the studio and sit in the lobby where the teacher can see you. This allows us to keep an eye on you and make sure you’re feeling alright before you leave.

Please be mindful of perspiration during class. If sweat reaches the floor beyond your mat or towel, take a moment to wipe the area before leaving the room.

Please keep showers to about five minutes so everyone has time to rinse after class.

Please help us care for the space by returning props neatly after use. If you’re unsure where something goes, just ask. We’re always happy to help.

  • Gaze Hot Yoga is a 26&2, Hatha-based studio. Gaze, along with many other studios, adopted the neutral name 26&2 to create a thoughtful distance between this intelligent, therapeutic sequence and the harm associated with its former branding (Bikram Yoga).

We teach 26&2 with clarity and kindness. Modifications are always offered and encouraged, helping keep your practice accessible, sustainable, and safe.

We also offer other styles of yoga, including flow, hatha, yin, and sculpt.

  • Gaze Flow is an energetic class that emphasizes the joy of movement. You will explore unique transitions and creative sequences which incorporate opportunities for arm balances, strength-building postures, and high-energy music. Although this class is challenging, options for modifications will always be given, making it suitable for all students. This class is offered heated and unheated.

  • Yin is a class that includes controlled pressure in long-held postures to de-stress the mind, body, and spirit.

  • Sculpt is a class designed to build strength, flexibility, and endurance. With a combination of yoga postures, hand weights, cardio bursts, and body-weight exercises, we will push through both physical and mental barriers. This class will remind you of your resilience! All levels are welcome.

  • Hatha Strong is a class that builds strength in traditional Hatha Yoga postures to improve range of motion, use the breath effectively, and progress your practice. All levels are welcome.

  • We recommend consulting your doctor first and letting your teacher know about your injury before class. Many postures can be modified, and we are happy to help you adjust your practice.

Most importantly, rest whenever you need to — skipping a posture is always okay.

  • Of course we recommend speaking with your doctor, however, many students practice yoga throughout pregnancy with modifications when needed. We recommend having an established hot yoga practice prior to pregnancy. If you would like help with modifications, please ask your teacher. Again, we are always happy to help.

  • The best schedule is one you can maintain and that leaves you feeling better, not exhausted. If you’re not able to attend class in person, most classes also offer livestream options, and our video library allows you to practice when and where you want.

  • All students 18  years old and under must attend with an adult companion.

Younger children may attend with a parent on a case-by-case basis. They must be able to remain on their mat for the entire class and not disturb the room.

No person will be permitted to wait in the lobby while class is in session.

  • Memberships can be paused for up to six months. Just email us with the date you’d like the pause to begin and when you’d like it to resume, and we’ll take care of it for you.

Memberships can be canceled through the Walla app. Open your account, select your membership, and follow the cancellation prompts.

If you have any trouble, feel free to email us and we’ll help you take care of it.

  • Yes. You can request membership changes at any time, and they will take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.

  • If we find an item left behind, we store it in a private area away from student spaces. If you think you may have lost something, please ask a staff member at the front desk and we’ll be happy to check for you.

Clothing and towels are washed and dried before being placed in the lost and found. Items are held for about 90 days, after which unclaimed belongings are donated.
